oil pastel drawing of a banana.

Keeping it simple:Oil Pastels

This is my first time using oil pastel, so I decided to do something simple, a banana. I’ve used soft pastels before, but that was way back in the day, high school days. So far not sure what to think of oil pastels, beside that it feel and looks like crayons. For those that have more experience with oil pastel, does the paper make a difference? Does it need to be paper only for oil pastel?

  1. I hope someone answer my question about the paper, cause I know when I went to Michael’s they had paper for pastels. Maybe that make a difference. I was going to buy soft pastels, but I know those can get messing and dusting when you use them.
